Rev Inderjit Bhogal presented a workshop at a day-long event on 8 November 2022 exploring the local, national and international implications of borders on communities, including their impact on the most vulnerable in societies, such as refugees.
The event was organised by Churches Together in Britain and Ireland (CTBI) and the Churches’ refugee Network (CRN). It provided a forum to bring together an array of organisations, groups and individuals from across Britain and Ireland who are engaged in asylum and refugee work in some capacity, and showcased the great work taking place by both Church and secular groups in this area.

Inderjit’s workshop was titled ‘Sanctuary in the context of borders’ and discussed the Church of Sanctuary project, and what hospitality and sanctuary means within a British and Irish context, in which regional and national borders are becoming increasingly important.
